Onboard with Suenaga San- Team Orange Evo

I was lucky enough to be strapped into the Team Orange car piloted by D1GP campaigner Naoto Suenaga over the weekend at the Yokohama World Time Attack. I have to admit that for a while there it didn’t look like it was going to happen as the crew replaced a battery and alternator,but being the pro’s they are the car hit the track for demo time.

I imagine a number of you will be wondering how he compares to say Gaz Whiter or Fanga Dan, well he is at the very least their equal, Calm, very still and in complete control of the car the entire time.

I got to do 3 laps in total and I just sat and enjoyed the 1st, the 2nd is a 95% run, and the last according to many media was the fastest he had thrown the car into the corner all weekend at around 160kmh (not bad with 100kg of ballast on board). I should have known the double thumbs up and huge smile translated to ‘Hold the f**k on’ .

Thanks to Team Orange, Amy and Ian from World Time Attack and Tectaloy for enabling this to happen.It was an awesome experience that I consider myself to have been very lucky to have had. I think maybe just a little bit, I might have even managed a smile.
